Twin Towers

Well here I am sitting behind my desk in Manhattan, 34 floors up, looking out the window at the Twin Towers. The room I sit in is called the Twin Towers room because of the view. Then it hits me, the only reason I am even sitting here is because of "The Twins".

From the moment we met at CA almost eight years ago, Gregg, Chris, Tom andmyself had formed a unique bond. We tried to be the four hardest non working employees in that joint. I still laugh at the times when Gregg would suggest spending our daily lunch "hours" going to home depot, motor vehicle or some other excursion that couldn't possibly be done in an hour. The endless games of computer hockey, jeopardy and monopoly. Endless sessions of Jerky Boys, Tube Bar and who can ever forget the Eat-Bite song (aaaahhhhh!!). Although for all the fun we had, when it came down to it, the BS stopped and the work got done.

As all things must end so did our time together at CA. Tom and the Twins left first and then after a few more years so did I. Throughout those lonely years I would periodically see or speak to the twins and Gregg would always be on my case about when was I to going to leave. I finally followed in their footsteps, left CA and entered the world of consulting.

Shortly after my first assignment had ended, I had one of the happiest days in my entire life. I reported to work for my next assignment at Citibank and who should stroll in but Gregg, wearing that dumb smirk of his that said we are going to run this place. Within a week on the project we were back to our old tricks, we were able to "free up" a position on our team and brought in Chris - The gang was back and it was great. For the next few months we had a blast.

Since then we had all moved on and now I am sitting here reading all these great stories about Gregg on the internet and getting all emotional. I know I will never again look across my desk and see Gregg but I am grateful for all the times I had. Now I stare out the window at the biggest Twins in the world and they serve as a constant reminder of my time with Greggy Pal and Chris.
