Bait & Switch

Once upon a time, there was a consultant. Let's call him Gregg. After looking for a long time, I called him and interviewed him by telephone for a position at Chase Manhattan Bank in the ChaseLink QA group. I was impressed with his professionalism and his knowledge of testing processes. We agreed that he would start on the following Monday...BUT NO!!!! He took another position, much to my dismay.

Later the next week, he called and said, "You know, I can locate another analyst for your position. He has the same skill set...EXACTLY the same skill set. He has the same education...EXACTLY the same education. He has a great face...NOT EXACTLY the same face (but pretty close!) He's my twin brother, Chris."

At first, I thought it was a joke...that Gregg wanted to work two jobs at the same time...BUT, NO!!! Chris was REAL. Chris was hired...Bait and Switch was successfully accomplished. The moment I met him, I got a terrible headache...and it hasn't stopped yet.

So started the close and rocky friendship of MOM II (me) and BRO II (Chris). Sometimes I still have trouble believing that Chris is real...but he's the best friend, brother, and husband that I know. If I miss Gregg, I can only imagine how he feels.
