Before I start on my reflections, I would like to congratulate Chris on the creation of this site. I must admit, like all of you, I have not gotten over Gregg's untimely passing. Through miracle of this, however, we can all share the wonderful memories of Gregg and Chris - two extraordinary young men and our friends.

Both of my most vivid memories of Gregg and Chris have to do with West Point, where I went to undergraduate school. Sal, who went to the New York Military Academy (not far up the road) had hoped at one point that the boys would go to college at West Point. When they were young, the Alfanos, Stelbens and Mongells (another Avis connection) went up there for a football game. We got there early, watched the parade, had a wonderful picnic lunch and then had our own touch football game on the Plain. Even at that early age, the boys showed their football prowess and gave the old men quite a show. It was a great day.

Later, when they were Juniors in High School and looking at colleges, I was able to arrange for them to spend a day with the Cadets, going to classes and even eating in the Mess Hall. Sal and I took drove them up - as you all recall how the boys dressed in those days, it was Miami Vice goes to West Point!! We (at least Sal and I) had a great day, and the boys as always, made the best of it, but it clearly was not for them (a good decision, I might add). We talked all the way home as you can imagine. I will never forget, however, and I can still remember exactly where we were!), Sal and I were talking about someone (who it was, I have long since forgotten), but I happened to describe this person as a "flaming ***hole"! The boys went absolutely nuts and greeted my years afterward with a joyous "Hi Flamer!!!" It is a memory that I will always treasure. I love you both.....
